January AB

I have almost finished stitching the two first letters - will be adding the beads later. This is so much fun!

I finished the letter B. I am backing it with a piece of demin and then adding it to the front of a greeting card.

I have finished stitching “B” for buttons – minus beads.  I think I will get the pieces past the q-snap, then bead, not waiting until they’re ALL done to begin with beads.  If each of the letters have as many beads as these, it would be a real task to do them all at once, for me!  Did you see the “P” for pincushion is out?  Don’t you just love it?

I have only done a couple of other projects using beads, Therefore I am still learning to use beads.

I have made this into a door hanger for my granddaughter Anna who is turning 10 today.

Good morning,
I have finished the letter A. Turned it into a door hanger for my granddaughter Anna who is turning 10 today. I have almost finished the letter B. Have to pick up 2 more colors of the beads at my LNS today. Plan to put on a greeting card. Will post pictures.

My progress

I got a late start so I'm catching up but here's my progress so far. I decided to stitch them individually (eventually) and someday sew sashing strips in between them to make the project into a wall hanging. To make it easier to hold, I'm stitching 4 at a time on a square of 32 ct. lambswool linen (so the piece will be easy to hold in my qsnaps) and then will cut them apart after stitching and beading.

I don't have the right beads here (and have to mail order them) so I'll have to leave the beading until later.

I am stitching on 28/32 ct? 8" banding.
The finished item will be long and narrow.
I am using what I have in my stash.

A & B Completed

I finished these a while ago and then hopefully this will give me the incentive to get going!!!!

False start # 2

I went to Joanne's The only 14 ct fabric they had large enough for the SAL was Oatmeal. Unfortunately, the ABC colors look horrible on it. So back to square one. There is a Joanne's here in Melbourne. Hopefully they will have another color available in 14 ct large enough for the project. I am beginning to think this is not meant to be. Meanwhile I completed 2 more UFO's this weekend. At least I am getting something done.

"A" Start

I started on ‘A’ today during the football playoff games.  Would you believe the only Ecru I can find is about ¼ of a skein!  But it didn’t prevent my start – I started with green and will pick up more Ecru tomorrow.  So far, so fun!
Someone commented about waiting to add beads, and I use q-snaps so think adding beads later will be a good idea.
